Installing the connector mating pieces

The mating parts of Deutsch DT connectors have pins that must first be crimped around the wire, and then placed in the terminal box. It is best to crimp these pins with crimping pliers made for non-insulated connectors, if the customer cannot find such crimping pliers, the pins can also be attached with needle-nose pliers if there is no other option.

Flat terminal connectors are a cheaper option, and possibly easier. The mating connectors are similar, non-insulated connectors. Standard Abiko connectors can also be used as mating pairs for flat connectors if you don't want to/can't install the mating connectors that come with them.

Are you ordering a large wiring harness?

If you are ordering a wiring harness that contains additional connections that consume a lot of power, we recommend a battery-powered option. Take for example a wiring harness that contains indicators, a horn, a 12V accessory and other connections that consume power. A battery-less wiring harness may not always have enough power for all of these parts, depending on the voltage regulator and stator power supply, so a battery-powered option is a safe option in terms of sufficient power.

For large wiring harnesses, we also definitely recommend the Plug N Play option! Connecting turn signals, long/short switches, etc. can be difficult for someone inexperienced with electronics. In the Plug N Play option, the customer sends us the electrical components of their moped, and we install the mating connectors on all electrical parts. Installation is much easier and faster, and you don't have to worry about mistakes or installation problems!
